BOTOX is a drug that is made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.<\/em> BOTOX injections work by weakening or paralyzing certain muscles or by blocking certain nerves. The effects can last anywhere from three to twelve months depending on what\u2019s being treated. Oftentimes, BOTOX injections are used to temporarily smooth the appearance of facial wrinkles. Technically, BOTOX is FDA-approved and available for adults who are 18 years of age or older. It\u2019s possible for people to benefit from preventive BOTOX treatments at as young as 25, but before this, there aren\u2019t usually enough visible lines to even begin worrying about them.
